Ancient Egypt, Early to Late Dynastic Period, ca. 3000 to 332 BCE; Ancient Near East, Neo-Assyrian, ca. 912 to 612 BCE. A fine set of ancient artifacts from Egypt and Neo-Assyria. The Egyptian artifacts Included are a hand-carved greenstone frog amulet representing the goddess Heket, a petite pottery plaque with a faded depiction of the dwarf god Bes, a spherical alabaster mace head, and a glazed faience figure of the wind god Shu. The Neo-Assyrian stone scaraboid plaque has a convex obverse as well as images of a baboon, falcon, and star on the underside, all showing faint remains of turquoise- and russet-hued pigment. Size of largest (mace head): 1.64" Diameter x 1.07" H (4.2 cm x 2.7 cm)
