Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1070 BCE. A hand-built grayware pottery jar of petite form exhibiting an egg-shaped body, a rounded shoulder, and a discoid rim, all atop a petite foot. Jars like this example were used to hold perfumes, scented oils, or perhaps votive offerings. Size: 1.51" Diameter x 3.17" H (3.8 cm x 8.1 cm)
