Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, Dynasties 18 through 20, 1550 to 1070 BCE. From the New Kingdom, considered the height of the Egyptian empire in terms of the art produced. Very fine limestone panel carved in high relief with three figural hieroglyphic symbols. The most prominent image is that of an owl - representing the letter "M", along with a flowering reed for the letter I and a quail for the letter "W." Traces of original pigment and nice custom base with all pertinent information shown. Size: 6" W x 10.25" H (15.2 cm x 26 cm)
