Description:

Egypt, Third Intermediate Period to Late Dynastic Period, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous, mold-made, very pale green-blue amulet in the form of Khnum. The figure has wonderful details that are still very clear, like the intricate headdress and pleated pattern on his skirt. On the back is a loop for suspension. Khnum was one of the oldest Egyptian deities, believed to be the source of the Nile River and thus the creator who molded human bodies and other deities from the rich silt and clay along the river's banks. Size: 0.55" L x 0.25" W x 1.45" H (1.4 cm x 0.6 cm x 3.7 cm); 1.7" H (4.3 cm) on included custom stand.
