Description:

Ancient Egypt, Predynastic Period, Gerzean culture, Naqada II, ca. 3500 to 3200 BCE. A charming pottery jar with incised decoration, presenting a planar base and sturdy walls that gradually expand to an ovoid body, a sloped shoulder, a corseted neck, and a slender rim. A petite lug handle emerges from one side of the neck, while the shoulder opposite it is decoratively incised with 4 vertical striations flanked above and below by horizontal lines - perhaps intended as a glyph. Size: 5.1" Diameter x 6.4" H (13 cm x 16.3 cm)
