Description:

Ancient Egypt, Predynastic Period, ca. 3300 to 3000 BCE. A set of 2 mace heads exhibiting relatively spherical forms. The first weapon is hand-carved from a matte green stone, and the larger is shaped from a sizable piece of honey-yellow alabaster. Each mace head has a hafting hole drilled biconically from top to bottom so they could be mounted to the end of a lengthy wooden pole. Size of largest (alabaster): 2.95" L x 3.12" W x 2.63" H (7.5 cm x 7.9 cm x 6.7 cm)
