Description:

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1076 to 664 BCE. A mold-formed terracotta ushabti standing in mummiform with fused feet and legs. The figure holds the symbolic pick and hoe in arms crossed atop the chest and has a visage composed of faint ovoid eyes, a broad nose, and a simple tripartite wig. Thick traces of gesso are visible within recessed cavities across the figure, and faint traces of turquoise pigment are visible across the head. Size: 1.6" W x 4.375" H (4.1 cm x 11.1 cm); 4.8" H (12.2 cm) on included custom stand.

Light earthen deposits throughout. Faint traces of original gesso throughout as well as original pigmentation on head.
