Description:

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 22nd Dynasty, ca. 1069 to 720 BCE. A hand-built pottery overseer ushabti holding an ankh and a whip while wearing a characteristic skirt that bulges out over the legs. Delicate facial features remain intact while faint remains of black pigment are visible on the body and head. Overseer ushabti kept the worker ushabti in check as they were tending to the fields of Osiris in the afterlife. Size: 1.55" W x 6.375" H (3.9 cm x 16.2 cm); 6.8" H (17.3 cm) on included custom stand.

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report will accompany the item upon purchase.
