Description:

Pre-Columbian, Moche phase IV, ca. 450 to 550 CE. A lovely painted cream and red stirrup vessel used to hold chicha, a type of home-made corn beer, the stirrup spout allowing it to be tied to the waist. Painted in fine-line technique with scrolling designs and geometric panels with crenelated relief work at the midsection - rare to find! Size: 6.5" W x 10.5" H (16.5 cm x 26.7 cm)
