Central Europe, Switzerland, ca. 1949 CE. An attractive and collectible Swiss 20 francs coin with a fineness of 90% gold (equivalent to 21K+). The obverse features Helvetia, a female symbol that personifies Switzerland, in profile she faces right with mountains behind. Reverse contains the Swiss shield surrounded by oak leaves with the value, "B" for the Federal Mint of Switzerland (formerly Bern Mint) and the date. The edge also has an inscription: "AD LEGEM ANNI MCMXXI" (By the law of 1931). Francs were minted at the Bern Mint from 1897 to 1935 and again in 1947 and 1949.
