A hand-built polychrome olla with a rounded body, a tapering neck, and a flared rim, skillfully decorated in russet red, jet black, and creamy beige hues. While the lower body and the rim are a solid creamy beige, the shoulder presents an extensive motifs - divided into vertical registers that present abstract organic forms, perhaps butterflies or bees given their winged appearance, and stylized geometrics. In addition, elegant repeated step motifs adorn the neck, and a few red frets mark the interior of the neck/rim. A fabulous example of fine Recuay artistry!
