Description:

Ancient. Egypt, early part of the 26th Dynasty, Psammetichus II/Apries, ca. 664 - 570 BCE. Mummiform, faience with light blue glaze and black details, with a tripartite wig, divine beard, facial details in low quality relief, hands crossed over chest, left hand with hoe, right hand with seed bag on cord suspended over left shoulder, six horizontal bands of incised hieroglyphic text wrapped around legs reciting version VII-A of the shabti spell naming the owner as Ankh-Hor. Ushabtis with a single tool are known only for Ankh Hor, Padimayhes, Pa-di-Hor-resenet (TT 196) and King Senkamanisken. Ankh-Hor was Governor of Upper Egypt under Psammetichus II and Apries (589-570 BC). He was also entitled as Chief Steward of the Divine Adoratrice Nitocris I (daughter of the founder of the 26th Dynasty, Psammetichus I). Size: 3.75" H (9.5 cm)
