Description:

Ancient Seas, ca. 2 million years ago. A wonderful example of a Megalodon tooth that has undergone the process of fossilization and subsequently developed mottled layers of brown, green, and grey patina. The upper enamel portion displays dozens of vertical striations and areas of light roughness, which are two results of fossilization, and the upper root has taken on a stone-like consistency. The serrated edges of the tooth are worn down, though they would have been incredibly sharp while the animal was still alive; some of the individual serrations are still visible. Size: 3.55" W x 4.7" H (9 cm x 11.9 cm); 5.375" H (13.7 cm) on included custom stand.
