Description:

Ancient Seas, ca. 2 million years ago. A finely preserved Megalodon tooth that has developed lustrous grey and brown hues due to the process of fossilization. The triangular enamel is lightly rounded across the top and bears dozens of tactile serrations along the periphery. Fine striations have formed across the upper enamel and lower root, both additional results of fossilization, and the upper root has developed a few stable fissures. The teeth of the Megalodon are all that remains of these ancient creatures with skeletal structures - like those of all sharks - that were made of cartilage and therefore did not fossilize. Size: 2.875" W x 3.7" H (7.3 cm x 9.4 cm)
