Description:

**Originally listed for $250**

Roman, Imperial Period, Province of Britannia, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A fantastic pottery design - pinched in multiple places around the body and with a tiny rolled rim, standing on a slight foot. More so even than food, pottery was the greatest item imported into Britain prior to the arrival of Roman troops; found everywhere around their forts are the remains of even more pottery. These were kilned in earthen mounds. Size: 3.75" W x 4.55" H (9.5 cm x 11.6 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Private LA County collection
