Northwestern United States, Alaska, or Canada, ca. 20th to 21st century CE. This intricate contemporary carving, crafted from mammoth tusk ivory, features a central frog with two smaller frogs emerging from the tip of each limb. The rear legs form loops, possibly allowing it to be worn as a pendant. An etched initial or symbol on the underside indicates an unidentified artist. This piece appears to draw on indigenous artistic traditions. Size: 1.75" L x 1.75" W (4.4 cm x 4.4 cm)
