Description:

United States, ca. 21st century CE. A striking custom knife featuring a Damascus steel blade paired with a handle made from fossilized mammoth ivory, a material dating back thousands of years. The ivory's deep blue-gray veining results from natural mineralization - a transformation caused by the presence of Vivianite, a phosphate mineral that forms in soil rich in iron and often associated with ancient gold-bearing deposits. The Damascus blade displays beautifully layered grain patterns, combining durability with visual depth and fluid motion in the steel. Complete with a hand-stitched brown leather sheath embossed with a reptile-texture pattern. Size of knife: 7.8" L x 1.3" W (19.8 cm x 3.3 cm); in sheath: 8.3" L x 2.25" W (21.1 cm x 5.7 cm)
