Description:

Egyptian & Roman Empire to Central Asia regions, ca. 1000 BCE to 1900 CE. A beautiful collection of 4 ancient and antique bead strands, expertly curated and restrung into wearable necklaces in modern times. The beads include both fossilized amber and copal, the latter being a younger, less fossilized resin with a lighter weight but a similar warm, translucence. Three necklaces feature tiny faience disc beads, adding some color contrast. One necklace is arranged as a double strand with graduated copal beads transitioning into larger disc forms. Many beads are carefully faceted, creating subtle reflective surfaces that enhance their natural luster. Size of longest strand doubled: 30" L (76.2 cm); largest barrel bead: 1" L x 0.5" W (2.5 cm x 1.3 cm)
