Description:

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, 18th to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 664 BCE. A wonderful ensemble of four petite pendants shaped from stone, glass, or rock crystal. First is a teal-hued stone scarab with insectile features on top and a smooth base. Second is an opaque, forest green jasper scarab with an abstract lion incised onto the base. Third is a translucent, cobalt blue scaraboid with a gently rounded top and a minimalist antelope engraved into the bottom. The largest rock crystal pendant depicts a pair of reared uraeus cobras with a mutual body that arches over the top of a sun disk. The three insectile pieces have suspension holes drilled through the bodies, and the largest exhibits a segmented suspension tube above the serpentine creatures. Size of largest (uraei pendant): 0.8" W x 0.6" H (2 cm x 1.5 cm)
