Description:

South America, Brazil, Jurassic Period, ca. 155 million years old. A gorgeous natural geological formation known as a dendrite, a limestone panel with a leafy looking pattern across the surface. This is not a fossilized plant but the work of water seeping into the fissures; water rich in manganese and-oxide and iron hydroxide found its way into the layers of fractured rock and the crystals slowly grew over time, forming intricate and fascinating dendrite patterns; no two are exactly alike! This slab includes shimmering mica flecks and has been professionally mounted in a wooden frame and is ready to be displayed. The verso contains a hand-written note about the original location and preparation of this stone. Size (stone): 11" L x 8" W (27.9 cm x 20.3 cm); (frame): 11.6" L x 8.5" W (29.5 cm x 21.6 cm)
