Francesco Di Cocco (Italian ex-patriate in U.S., 1900-1989), pen and ink drawing of Native Americans cooking, ca. 1930 CE. A pen and ink drawing depicting five Native Americans cooking or perhaps eating from a large bowl of foodstuffs set near a cliffside by the early 20th century artist Francesco Di Cocco. The nicely balanced composition displays expert brushwork, line, and washes in black ink on yellow-tan wove paper. Di Cocco was born in Rome, Italy in 1900. He studied at the esteemed Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, and relocated to New York in the late 1930s following a year in Mexico. From 1940 to 1969, he lived in California, but spent the remainder of his years in his native land. Size: 11.75" W x 8.875" H (29.8 cm x 22.5 cm)
