A superb pair of finely decorated brass trench art vases created during WWI, each example adorned with an intricate iconographic program comprised of two winged nude angels lying down, arms supporting their uplifted heads as they gaze toward a tree of life form in the center. Initials above read "NG"; printed on the base "1917 20 - GS 3B" and "MB LB70" as well as other small numbers. Sublime Art Nouveau styling, exquisite detailing and expert rendering of varying textures! Sizes: 10 1/2"H (26.7 cm), pair weighs over 5 lbs (2.3 kg).
