Ancient Near East, Neo-Babylonian period, ca. early to mid-1st millennium BCE. A well-preserved hematite stamp seal of slender form bearing two scenes: a pair of figures approaching a single, slightly larger figure- perhaps representing a king and an attendee approaching a god. Another set of figures depicts a single man approaching a woman draped beneath an archway, perhaps indicating her passing. The seal is fitted with modern 10K+ gold caps, one of which with a suspension loop that enables wearability. Size: 0.45" L x 0.47" W x 1.14" H (1.1 cm x 1.2 cm x 2.9 cm); gold quality: 44.58% (equivalent to 10K+); total weight: 12.1 grams

  • Condition: Wearable with a necklace cord, and constructed in modern times. Hematite seal is ancient; gold fittings are modern. Minor softening to some finer details on seal, otherwise intact and excellent. Great presentation!
