Description:

Western Europe, probably Italy, Renaissance to Early Modern Period, ca. mid to late 17th century CE. A stunning gold ring comprised of a slender, ribbon-form band and a sizeable, carnelian signet of octagonal form. Scrolling flourishes surround the impressive shield. A tiered frame of gold surrounds the signet, contrasting nicely with the rich red carnelian.
