Description:

Ancient Mediterranean, Graeco-Persia area, 5th century BCE. This is a simple, beautiful bronze bowl, with a delicate palmette design in the center encircled by an even more delicate braided design. Bronze objects were often made only for special or ceremonial purposes (with pottery made to look like bronze reserved for daily use). This bowl was probably used to hold offerings or libations. Size: 5.6" W x 1.2" H (14.2 cm x 3 cm)
