Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, Apulia, ca. 4th century BCE. An attractive red-hued pottery dish that features a sturdy raised footed base with a large concave indentation, a flat body with an undulating vine-like scroll motif detailing the underside, a raised rim, and a shallow central cavity. The underside detailing fades from red-hued vines to black-hued vines and back again as they progress around the dish. Size: 5.375" W x 1.375" H (13.7 cm x 3.5 cm).

Provenance: private New Jersey, USA collection, acquired over twenty years ago
