Description:

Ancient Greece, Cyprus, late Cypro-Archaic, ca. 500 to 475 BCE. A wonderful pottery vase presenting an egg-shaped body, a narrow neck, and a flared rim. A pair of sturdy tubular handles flank the bulbous body, sitting just above the sloped shoulder. Light remains of black pigment adorn the shoulder, forming horizontal rings across the vibrant, red-hued terracotta. Size: 11.8" in diameter x 13" H (30 cm x 33 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report will accompany the item upon purchase.

  • Condition: TL holes to base and inside handle. Small perforation near base. Minor chip to rim. Expected surface wear with nicks and abrasions throughout. Otherwise, excellent with nice earthen deposits. Plastic ring attached to base for protection. TL drill holes inside of one handle and beneath base.
