Southern Europe, Greek Bronze Age/early Iron Age, ca. 11th to 8th century BCE. A spectacle fibula made from a single piece of coiled bronze wire, one of the classic forms of antiquity, this example with a rare pale seafoam blue patina. Spiral brooches seem to have been an almost Europe-wide fashion during this time period and are found in graves as markers of status from the Carpathians to western Europe. Comes with custom stand. Size: 1.25" W x 3" H (3.2 cm x 7.6 cm); height on stand: 4" (10.2 cm)
