Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1292 BCE; Third Intermediate Period to Late Dynastic Period, 25th to 30th Dynasty, ca. 744 to 343 BCE. A wonderful gathering of 4 petite Egyptian artifacts. From the New Kingdom is an elongated cowroid bead with a quartet of royal uraeus cobras on the bottom, and all covered in blue-green glaze. Next is a petite striding amulet depicting Thoth, the ibis-headed god of mathematics, intelligence, and the moon. Next is an opaque wadjet (also wedjat or Eye of Horus) amulet carved from mottled dark brown and black stone. The largest piece is a faience button scarab with naturalistic features on the top and bottom. Size of largest (scarab): 0.69" L x 0.5" W (1.8 cm x 1.3 cm)

Provenance: private Toronto, Ontario, Canada collection, by descent, acquired in Egypt in 1894 to 1896
