A hand-carved greenstone axe god figure with string-cut grooves that denote the arms, neck line, and facial features. Mezcala axe god figures are important artifacts for understanding the artistic and spiritual practices of the ancient Mezcala culture. They provide valuable insights into the religious beliefs and symbolic language of this society, even though many aspects of their meaning and use remain mysterious due to the limited written records from that time period.
