A beautiful bowl - hand carved from koa wood that presents attractive graining, iridescent 'quilted' areas, and warm amber hues. A wonderful deep bowl sitting on an integral circular base, made from wood of the flowering Acacia Koa tree. Interestingly, in the Hawaiian language, the word koa means fearless warrior. Alex Wright is a reputable wood carver based in Sonoma County California. Size: 6.875" in diameter x 3.875" H (17.5 cm x 9.8 cm)
