Adelle Lalo Nampeyo (Native American, Hopi, b. 1959) & Vernida Polacca Nampeyo (Native American, Hopi, b. 1955), ca. late 20th century CE. A pair of handmade Sikyatki Revival pottery vessels by artists from the famous Nampeyo family. The jar with a short neck is signed on the base by Adelle Nampeyo, and the seed jar is signed by Vernida Polacca Nampeyo. Adelle and Vernida are great-granddaughters of Nampeyo of Hano (1859-1942). Nampeyo is celebrated for reviving and expanding the beautiful ancient style of pottery called Sikyatki, which her descendants have carried on making. Adelle and Vernida are cousins, and learned the craft from their mothers and grandmother, Fannie Nampeyo. Size of taller jar: 5" Diameter x 6" H (12.7 cm x 15.2 cm)
