Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Inuit culture, mid to late 20th century CE. A charming pair of hand-carved figures showcasing traditional artistry. The first carving depicts a hunter rendered from antler, holding a slender spear with a cotton thread line attached to a small antler seal, poised as though freshly caught. Accompanying this is a finely carved walrus ivory paperweight, its smooth surface naturally developing rich brown and blue-grey vivianite hues from age, topped by a delicate white seal figure resting alertly. Size of hunter: 1" W x 4" H (2.5 cm x 10.2 cm)
