Far East, China, early Qing dynasty., ca. 1600 - 1799 CE. The interior is centered with a fruiting branch—likely pomegranate or peach, symbols of abundance and longevity—enclosed within a roundel and surrounded by a meticulously rendered diaper ground. Four lobed cartouches interrupt the lattice, each containing stylized floral sprays, while the rim is encircled by a continuous band of blossoms and foliage. The exterior is painted with elegant scrolling foliage interspersed with shaped cartouches enclosing stylized blossoms, the decoration executed in fluid brushwork with subtle tonal variation in the cobalt. The balanced composition and crisp delineation of both geometric and naturalistic elements are characteristic of Kangxi-period porcelain production. Size: 10.75" D x 4" H (27.3 cm D x 10.2 cm H)
