Oceania, Papua New Guinea, West Sepik River region, Kurungunam village, Urim peoples, ca. mid-20th century CE. A sizable eating bowl known as a "kudruk," hand-built from coarse pottery with a hemispherical form, a rounded bottom, a deep basin, and a thick rim. The exterior is covered with dense linear, circular, and geometric motifs formed from applied pottery cords with impressed segmentation and applied pink pigmentation for further embellishment.
