Description:

**Originally Listed At $400**

East Asia, China, Ming Dynasty, ca. 1368 to 1664 CE. A fabulous pair of porcelain bowls; each similar in form yet strikingly different in decoration. Each vessel presents a shallow basin with wide-flaring walls, a broad rim, and a ring-form foot. The larger dish, however, is of maximalist design, featuring meticulously hand-painted blue-on-white ornamentation of abstract, phytomorphic motifs. Boasting a more pronounced rim, the more petite bowl is alternatively of minimalist adornment, enveloped in a monochrome glaze of celadon with no additional decoration. Size of larger (blue on white): 13.3" Diameter x 2.2" H (33.8 cm x 5.6 cm)
