A petite pottery head from a Tanagra type female figure, depicting a fashionable, mortal woman or female character from the New Comedy of Menander, as this was the emphasis of Tanagras as opposed to depicting gods and goddesses, with an intricately delineated, wavy coiffure parted in the middle of her hairline and crowned by an applied headband or diadem wearing one round earring. She presents a tranquil expression comprised of almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and pursed lips. Black, wood block mount.
