Description:

North America, Native American, Late Archaic to early Woodland periods, ca. 2000 BCE to 200 CE. A substantial stone hand axe, hand-knapped from a light-brown chert with darker inclusions. The edges and tip are finely serrated, and the butt end has been slightly roughed-up for ease of use. The topside displays an almost uniform light-brown color, and the underside showcases a concentric ringed design, in a smoky-blue hue, which is native to the stone itself. Size: 6.5" L (16.5 cm).
