Eastern Europe, Russia, southeastern Magadan Region, Seymchan, found ca. 1967 CE. A gorgeous slice of the highly stable and rust resistant pallasite Seymchan meteorite Boasting a metallic hue of silver with translucent inclusions in shades of caramel, toffee, and mocha, this shimmering shard of celestial matter is comprised of kamacite - an alloy of iron and nickel that creates the sparkling luster - as well as olivine, also known as peridot, crystal inclusions. Both sides of the slice have been polished until they achieved an incredibly lustrous finish. Fragments of this meteorite were found in the Yasachnaya River in 1967. In 2004, a substantial amount of additional material was recovered from the same site. Size: 6.1" L x 4.8" W (15.5 cm x 12.2 cm); weight: 150.1 grams
