Description:

Western Europe, France, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A forged-steel cuirass breast plate of a hefty form with a thick lower flange. A pair of semicircular arm grooves have flared rims with rounded, comfortable edges, and a shallow vertical crest courses down the center of the plate. Eleven brass rivets interspersed across the obverse enable the attachment of auxiliary armor plates while providing a decorative touch. Smooth, lustrous patina has formed across the exterior and interior surfaces. Size: 14.5" W x 15.375" H (36.8 cm x 39.1 cm)
