Description:

Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, ca. late 19th century CE. A lovely personal knife composed of a hand-carved whale bone handle, a knapped obsidian knife blade of a triangular form, and textile wrappings conjoining the two pieces with a slender bone plank on the underside. The handle has a slender midsection which expands to a spatula-shaped pommel. Thick layers of natural resin have solidified around the textile wrappings which prohibits the blade or handle from moving when in use. Size: 2.8" W x 9.875" H (7.1 cm x 25.1 cm).
