Description:

Native American, North America, Pacific Northwest Coast, Columbia River region, ca. 700 to 200 BCE. An attractive gathering of hand-knapped chert or flint arrowheads in hues of black, beige, eggshell, slate, citrine, vermilion, and tan. Several triangular arrowheads have tapered heads and tails with either a straight tang or forked terminals, and others have relatively uniform ovoid shapes. Arrowheads like these examples were invaluable tools to ancient hunters as they were more effective and durable than mere sharpened sticks. Size of largest: 2.5" L x 1.1" W (6.4 cm x 2.8 cm)

Provenance: private Newport Beach, California, USA collection; purchased just outside Seattle, Washington, USA from a private collection in 2004
