Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A fine set of cast-bronze figurines depicting two of ancient Egypt's most recognizable deities - Osiris, the god of the underworld, and Harpokrates, the son of Osiris and Isis. Osiris is depicted standing in mummiform while wearing an Atef crown, the white crown of Upper Egypt flanked with ostrich feathers. Osiris' son, Harpokrates (from the Egyptian "Her-pa-khered," literally "Horus the child") is presented nude in a seated pose with a frontal uraeus in the center of his forehead and a sidelock of hair attributed to his youthful nature. Both figurines are enveloped in lustrous layers of green and russet patina. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 0.875" W x 4" H (2.2 cm x 10.2 cm); 4.875" H (12.4 cm) on included custom stand.
