Description:

Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Periods, ca. 712 to 30 BCE. A lovely pair of stirrup-shaped rings, mold-formed from bright blue faience. One ring has a thin band and a flat face bearing a faded hieroglyphic inscription or perhaps a cartouche given the ovoid presentation. The second ring is larger and of a thicker composition with a striated band, a pair of palm frond terminals, and a small scarab beetle in the center. These rings demonstrate the level of skill that the ancient Egyptians had attained in working with faience. Custom ring display stand included. Size of largest (scarab): 1.1" in Diameter (2.8 cm); US ring sizes 2.75 and 10.5.
