Description:

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Third Intermediate Period, 18th to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 664 BCE. A fine set of two mold-formed faience scarabs of near-miniature sizes covered in lustrous blue-green glaze. The topsides of both amulets exhibit characteristic insectile features, with the bottom of one scarab bearing an incised 'X' beneath a rectangular hieroglyph, and the other showcasing a stylized scarab with extended legs. Size: slightly larger scarab measures .5" L x .25" W (1.3 cm x 0.6 cm); the scarabs come in lucite case that measures 2" L x 1" W x .75" H (5.1 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.9 cm)
