Description:

Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A petite pair of mold-formed faience amulets in the form of deities. The two figures have great signs of age, and their details are weathered, but their wide protruding snouts and slender bodies suggest one of the animal headed gods or goddesses such as Bastet. Both are pierced laterally for suspension at their shoulders. The amulets are covered in lustrous pale green glaze and would have been worn for protection. Size: .375" W x 1.5" H (1 cm x 3.8 cm)

Provenance: ex-Phoenicia Holyland Antiquities, New York, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
