Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Mixtec people, ca. 1200 to 1500 CE. A pair of abstract anthropomorphic pendants carved from attractive green-hued stone. Each figure presents standing with broad hands clasped over their abdomen and peering forward with string-cut eyes. The first figure is carved from yellow-green stone and has slightly sloped shoulders, and the second figure is shaped from dark-green stone and has sharply angled shoulders. The back of each figure bears a biconically drilled suspension hole. Size of largest (dark green): 0.625" W x 1.625" H (1.6 cm x 4.1 cm)

Provenance: private Los Angeles County, California, USA collection, acquired by descent from the owner's father, collection amassed between 1950-1990
