Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A wonderful collection of 3 mold-formed faience amulets covered in lustrous blue-green glaze. The pair of matching amulets depict Shu, god of the air, in a kneeling pose with a sun disk held between his raised arms. The central triad amulet depicts Isis, the wife of Osiris, on the left, her son Harpokrates (translated as "Horus the child") in the center, and Isis' sister Nephthys, goddess of sleep and night, on the right. All three amulets have drilled suspension holes on the verso. Size of largest (triad): 1.1" W x 1.625" H (2.8 cm x 4.1 cm); 2.3" H (5.8 cm) on included custom stand.
