Description:

Ancient Near East, Luristan, Marlik, or other area around the Caspian Sea, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A huge leaf-shaped, round-shouldered bronze spear point, cast in a single piece. A prominent midrib extends into a long shank, which is separated from a square tang by heavy square molding. The tang ends in a bent, button terminal. The exterior is covered in thick layers of green, blue-green, azurite, and russet patina. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.75" W x 20.75" H (4.4 cm x 52.7 cm).
