Description:

North Pacific, Hawaii, ca. 1940s CE. A striking, sizable bowl made from the wood of the flowering Acacia Koa tree, a name that interestingly translates to "fearless warrior". Boasting a silky smooth surface of caramel-hued woodgrain with natural chocolate brown striations, this remarkable vessel exhibits a flat, circular base and impressively thin walls that gently flare inwards and then outwards as they rise to a huge, annular rim over a deep basin. The combination of swirling shades of brown and tan on the bowl's flawlessly carved surface is simply mesmerizing to behold! Size: 14.75" in diameter x 7" H (37.5 cm x 17.8 cm)
